‘Sammelan’ Exhibition in Pune: A Tribute to 650 Artisans and Their Craft

Pune, 27th September 2024: Zishta, a leading handcrafted traditional kitchenware, dining ware and home decor brand, is delighted to announce the launch of ‘Sammelan,’ a 3-day exhibition celebrating the rich and diverse heritage of handcrafted treasures from 650 artisans across 15 states of India. The event runs from September 27-29, 2024, at Sonal Hall, Karve Road, Pune, from 10 AM to 8 PM.

This unique event offers residents of Pune an immersive opportunity to explore Zishta’s complete range of handcrafted products, including traditional cookware made from cast iron, soapstone, brass, and Manipur black pottery. Pune, known for its rich culinary traditions, is famous for delicacies such as misal pav, poha, puran poli, bhakri, and aamti. To prepare these favourites, utensils like the Kadai are perfect for frying the spicy misal, while the Tawa is ideal for making crispy bhakri and roti. The Traditional and Cast Iron Raised Edge Pan can be used to craft soft, authentic dosas and pancakes.

Additionally, Zishta has curated a special selection of Navratri gifts, artisanal lamps, diyas, and traditional toys from regions like Etikoppaka, Varanasi, and Channapatna, perfect for home decor and festive gifting.Beyond a product showcase, ‘Sammelan’ is designed as an interactive and educational experiencewhere visitors can enjoy personalised demonstrations and learn how to incorporate traditional cookware into Maharashtrian cuisine.

Zishta will also launch its exclusive Kansa Tulsi range of serveware and cookware at the Pune exhibition, offering a unique blend of tradition and durability, perfect for both everyday use and festive celebrations.

A special highlight of the event is the live Kalai workshop, where visitors can register to witness the traditional art of kalai (tin-coating brass vessels). Attendees can even bring their cherished heirloom brass vessels to get them treated with kalai on-site.
