Sale Of Illegal Oxytocin Drug To Increase Milk Production In Animals Busted In Pune
Lohegaon, 6th November 2022: The Pune City Police has busted a gang that was stockpiling Oxytocin drugs for milking cows and buffaloes and selling them. Anti-Narcotics Squad One of the Crime Branch, Vimantal Police station and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have seized 53.52 lakh stock of oxytocin drug in a joint operation. The action was taken in the Kalvadwasti area.
Sameer Anwar Qureshi (29), a resident of Kalwadvasti in Lohegaon, Bishwajit Sudhanshu Jana (44), Mangal Kanallal Giri (27), Satyajit Maheshchandra Mondal (22) and Srimanta Manoranjan Haldar (32), all residents of West Bengal have been arrested. FDA Inspector Suhas Sawant has filed a complaint.
Pandurang Pawar, the officer of the anti-narcotics squad one, got information about the illegal stocking of drugs used to increase the milk of cows and buffaloes at Kalwad area near Pune airport in Lohegaon. Accordingly, the team contacted the FDA and raided the spot. At that time, it was seen that oxytocin and solution were stored in the shed and were being packed for sale. The accused Sameer Qureshi, who is from Uttar Pradesh, was found to be making illegal stocks with the help of his other accomplice.
It was also seen that the main facilitator Qureshi was supplying the drug to the cowshed owners. Assistant Commissioner of FDA Dinesh Khivansara, Drug Inspector Atish Sarkale, Suhas Sawant, and Assistant Police Inspector Laxman Dhengle went and inspected the cowsheds where drugs were supplied. They noticed that this medicine was also supplied there. As much as 53 lakh 52 thousand drug stock was seized from the accused.
Police investigation team included Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, Assistant Police Inspector Laxman Dhengle, and Pandurang Pawar, Pravin Uttekar, Vishal Dalvi, by Manoj Kumar Salunke, Rahul Joshi, Sandeep Shirke, Sachin Malve, Vishal Shinde, Sandesh Kakade and Yogesh Mohite.
