All India, 6th June 2017: Sahyadri Hospitals today, launched a mobile app for availing immediate and easy access to ambulances in the city of Pune. The app named “Sahyadri Ambulance” is available on Google play store. The launch of the mobile application is a part of Sahyadri Hospitals’ initiative of – Fast Emergency Response and was attended by Dr. Basavraj Teli (Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pune), Dr. Venkat Holsambre (Head Medical Services, Sahyadri Hospitals) and Mr. Madhur Varma (CEO, Sahyadri Hospitals).

The pioneering initiative, Fast Emergency Response (FER), was launched with an agenda to bring the city together to fight the emergency situations. In case of emergency quick actions and taking patient to hospital without delay is extremely important. Considered as the most critical time period, it is essential to pay attention to details such as victims’ position, movement along with the breathing rate. Sahyadri Hospitals had recently conducted Basic Life Support sessions for the traffic police of Pune to deal confidently with emergency situations.

To further support the initiative of Fast Emergency Response and build a chain of response to medical emergency, Sahyadri Hospitals “Sahyadri Ambulance” application will also aid the citizens of Pune. One of the biggest advantages is the 7 strategic locations of Sahyadri Hospitals in and around Pune which will alert the closest Sahyadri ambulance and take the least time to reach the accident spot.

Dr. Basavraj Teli (chief guest) on the launch said, “There is an immediate need for an action plan for the increasing emergency situations in Pune. We are constantly working towards minimizing the risk due to such situations and Sahyadri Hospitals has been our constant support. The hospitals over the last few months have provided the traffic police of various regions in Pune with basic life support sessions. The ambulance application will also further help getting medical support without any further delays.”

“Deaths due to emergency situations and delay in medical attention are one of the biggest burdens for Pune. Instead of depending on someone to call and give the address, the ambulance app will be quick and precise due to its GPS technology. Through the ambulance application, we aim to build a city which has the ability to act quickly towards  emergency situations.” said Dr. Venkat Holsambre, Head-Medical Services, Sahyadri Hospitals.
