Rotary Club of Pune Pristine partners with Onco-Life and Integrated Cancer Treatment and Research Center (ICTRC), Wagholi to install state-of-the-art Radiation and CT Scan Center

Pune, 14th April 2025: Rotary Club of Pune Pristine in association with Onco-Life and Integrated Cancer Treatment and Research Center (ICTRC), Wagholi has installed a state of the art Radiation and CT Scan machine. The Rotary Foundation Trustee Dr Bharat Pandya was chief guest of the program and Rotary Governor Shital Shah, Rotarian Dr Shailesh Palekar along with Dr Arvind Kulkarni, Trustee and Senior Oncologist at ICTRC and Uday Deshmukh, Chairman, Onco-Life were present on the occasion.
The Machine installed is state of art, sophisticated machine and can treat via various treatment protocols. It can handle wide variety of patients across age groups – from paediatric to adult patients. In fact, as the Center has all required facilities, the new centre will be a boon for cancer patients and will not need to go outside for diagnosis or any part of radiation treatment. The Hospital also have Rotary donated Chemo Ward and Operation Theatre which is being upgraded.
The new center, when runs at full capacity, can treat approx. 1200 Cancer patients and offer Life saving Radiation Therapy free to patients under Ayushman Bharat / Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY).
Rtn. Sudin Apte, Convener of project said that this is our second centre for radiation, the first being at Surya Sahyadri Hospital serving about 750 patients yearly and is 100 % dedicated to underprivileged patients. With this facility the project will be able serve 1200 cancer patients and deliver charity or free treatments to patients worth 21 Crore.
To make things easier for cancer patients coming from outside hospitals (govt/charity) with whom Center have tie up, the center will provide transport facilities. The center will offer free meal to patient and its one relative all through treatment. The Centre is also planning to give medicine kit free for common side effects of Radiation Therapy.
Uday Deshmukh, Chairman Onco- Life added that the center is committed that minimum 80% of patients it caters will be underprivileged.
ICTRC’s senior Radiation Oncologist Dr Arvind Kulkarni said that Hopital has tradition of 25+ years of serving patients in Integrated way and Hospital is well geared to provide modern as well as Ayurvedic treatment if patient wishes.
