The Russo Brothers will also receive a substantial amount to direct the next two Avengers films: Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Variety reports that they will be paid approximately 670 crore rupees ($80 million) for their work. This marks a significant achievement for the directors who have previously helmed blockbuster films such as Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
Robert Downey Jr.’s recent Oscar win for Best Supporting Actor in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer has further elevated his market value. Consequently, his fee for the new Avengers film surpasses even that of the Russo Brothers. His contract includes exclusive perks such as travel by private jet and personal security arrangements.
Downey Jr. is reportedly the highest-paid actor in the MCU, charging between 4187 crore rupees to 5024 crore rupees ($500 million to $600 million) for his roles in four Avengers films, three Iron Man films, Captain America: Civil War, and cameos in The Incredible Hulk and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Despite his character’s death in Avengers: Endgame, Downey Jr. is set to return as Doctor Doom, the lead villain in the MCU.
Pre-production for the upcoming Avengers films will begin early next year, with filming set to start in London.
