Robbers Loot Valuables From Passengers Onboard Pune-Nanded Express

Pune, 7th December 2023: In a startling turn of events on the night of December 5th, a group of 5 to 6 robbers looted passengers of Pune-Nanded Express near the Daund Chord Line railway station. The incident took place when the train came to an unexpected halt due to the obstruction caused by another train at the Daund Chord Line station.

Speaking under conditions of anonymity, a senior officer from the Pune Railway Police revealed, “Under the cover of the halted train, the perpetrators seized the opportunity, menacingly threatening passengers from outside the train and snatching valuables totaling nearly Rs 2 Lakhs. They didn’t enter but snatched valuables of two passengers and took away purse of two others from window while the train was halted for a crossover.”

After looting the passengers, the culprits resorted to aggressive tactics, hurling objects to impede passengers from disembarking the train and trailing their escape.

Police have filed a case against the involved 5 to 6 individuals under Section 395 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 152 of the Railway Act 1989.
