Road Closure Alert In Pune: Ghorpadi-BT Kavade Road To Be Closed For Two Days For Girder Work On Railway Line Flyover

Ghorpadi, 1st January 2024: In an effort to advance the construction of the railway flyover at Ghorpadi, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced the closure of the road from BT Kavade Road, Thopte Chowk to Bharat Forge Company from January 6 to 8. The closure is necessary to facilitate the laying of iron girders for the upcoming flyover.
The Projects Department of the Municipal Corporation is overseeing the ongoing work on the railway flyover at Ghorpadi. As a crucial step in this process, the installation of iron girders is scheduled to take place from January 6 to 8. Consequently, the affected road section will be inaccessible for all traffic between 8 am and 6 pm on these dates, informed Shriniwas Bonala, Chief Engineer (Projects), PMC.
To minimize inconvenience, the municipal administration has urged motorists to utilize alternative routes during the specified closure period. Bonala, advised citizens to consider the alternative route from BT Kavade Road Smart Point, Vanraj Corner to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk (BG Shirke Company Gate No. One), Vathare Mala Road. It’s important to note that this alternate route is designated for two-wheelers and light vehicles only.
