Road Accidents On Pune-Mumbai Expressway Down By 30% Compared To Last Year
Pune 20th July 2023: The Highway Police of Maharashtra have reported around 30% less accidents on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway compared to last year. According to official data, a total of 70 accidents have been reported on the expressway between January and July 2023 compared to 100 accidents reported for the same period last year.
This includes 26 fatal accidents in which 37 people have been killed, 20 major accidents in which 54 people have sustained serious injuries while 7 minor accidents in which 19 people sustained minor injuries. The highway police have increased action against vehicles found violating traffic rules. A total of 28,576 cases have been filed against vehicles found over speeding on the expressway between January and July 2023.
