Pune, 11th July 2024: Renault is gearing up to launch the Duster SUV in the Indian market, having recently undergone rigorous Crash Testing by Euro NCAP. According to the test results, the Dacia-manufactured Duster achieved a three-star safety rating. The tests evaluated its safety performance for adults and children, as well as various safety assist features.

In the Crash Testing conducted by Euro NCAP, the left-hand drive version of the Duster scored 28.1 points for adult safety and 41.6 points for child safety. On-road users rated it at 38.2 points, with safety assist features scoring 10.3 points. This rating underscores the SUV’s capabilities in ensuring passenger safety across different scenarios.

Renault had previously offered the Duster in India and is now preparing to reintroduce it with a facelift. The SUV will feature essential safety elements including front and side airbags, ABS, seatbelt warning, and more. It aims to cater to the Indian market under the Renault brand, though it’s sold as a Dacia product in Europe.

The Duster will come equipped with three engine options: a 999cc petrol engine generating 90 horsepower and 160 Newton meters of torque, a 1.3-liter engine delivering 130 horsepower and 240 Newton meters of torque, and an automatic variant with a 1332cc engine producing 150 horsepower and 250 Newton meters of torque. All variants will offer manual transmission as standard.

Renault’s decision to enhance safety features and introduce new engine options reflects its strategy to meet diverse consumer needs in the competitive Indian SUV market. The three-star safety rating from Euro NCAP positions the Duster as a viable choice for safety-conscious consumers looking for reliability and performance in their vehicles.
