India, 24th February 2024: Renault, renowned for its affordable yet feature-packed vehicles in the Indian automobile market, has garnered significant acclaim with its popular Renault Kwid model. Now, the anticipation is noticeable as Renault prepares to introduce its latest offering, the Renault Kwid EV, to the Indian market.

Scheduled for release in 2024, the Renault Kwid EV promises to be a standout choice among electric cars, boasting an abundance of features that are sure to captivate consumers. Despite the lack of an official launch date announcement, reports indicate a potential arrival by 2025. Renault’s sister brand, Dacia, has already debuted the Dacia Spring EV globally, sharing resemblances with the upcoming Renault Kwid EV.

Designed to cater to the budget segment of electric vehicles, the Renault Kwid EV is expected to be competitively priced at around ₹5 lakh (ex-showroom). Initial specifications suggest a 26.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack providing an estimated range of 220 kilometres, paired with a 44-horsepower electric motor capable of generating 125 Nm of torque. Reports also hint at the inclusion of fast-charging options.

While detailed information about its design remains limited, the Renault Kwid EV is anticipated to feature a stylish and appealing exterior. Moreover, it is expected to offer a wide array of features, including a touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, ABS, EBD, and airbags for safety.

Competing against models such as the Tata Tiago EV and the MG Comet EV, the Renault Kwid EV aims to carve a niche for itself in the electric car segment. With its promising features and competitive pricing, it is poised to revolutionize the Indian electric vehicle market upon its debut.
