Ranjan Kumar Sharma Assumes Office as Pune Police Joint Commissioner

Pune, 10th July 2024: In a recent reshuffle of senior police officers by the Home Department of Maharashtra state government, Ranjan Kumar Sharma was appointed the Joint Commissioner of Police in Pune. This move comes following the transfer of Praveen Pawar to the position of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissioner.

Sharma, previously serving as the Special Inspector General of Police at the State Crime Investigation Department (CID), brings a wealth of experience in law enforcement to his new role. His appointment aims to bolster the leadership within Pune’s police force during a critical period.

Simultaneously, other significant transfers were announced within the Maharashtra police hierarchy:
– Amitabh Gupta, formerly Additional Director General of Police in the Prisons Department, has been reassigned as Additional Director General of Police for Mumbai’s Special Operations.
– Sunil Ramanand, who held the position of Additional Director General of Police in the Wireless Department, has been appointed to Mumbai’s Planning and Coordination Department.
– Praveen Salunke, previously serving as Additional Director General of Police in the Special Operations, now assumes the role of Additional Director General of Police in the Government Railway Police (GRP).
– Suresh Kumar Mekhla, Controller of the Legal Metrology Department, has been posted as Additional Director General of Police in the Traffic Department.
– Deepak Pandey, who led the Prevention of Crime against Women & Children Department as Additional Director General of Police, has been reassigned to the Wireless Department.
– Suhas Warke, formerly a Special Inspector General of Police, now takes on the role of Additional Director General of Police (Prevention of Crime against Women & Children).
– Ashwiti Dorje, previously serving as Joint Commissioner of Police in Nagpur, has been appointed as Special Inspector General of Police in the Civil Rights Protection Department.
– Chering Dorje, who held the position of Special Inspector General of Police in Nagpur Zone, has been reassigned to oversee the Law and Order Department.
– Dilip Bhujbal-Patil, formerly with the State Crime Investigation Department, now serves as the Special Inspector General of Police for the Nagpur zone.
