Ramdas Athawale to contest 2019 Lok Sabha election from Mumbai South seat

Mumbai – The Republican Party of India(RPI) on Tuesday announced that its party chief and Union Minister Ramdas Athawale will contest 2019 Loka Sabha elections, from Mumbai South Central constituency. The sitting MP from this constituency is Shiv Sena’s Rahul Shewale.

Athawale is Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in the Narendra Modi government, and represents Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India’s Parliament. Previously he was the Lok Sabha MP from Pandharpur.
