Quantum Technology in Warfare: Army’s Southern Command Seminar Explores Future Strategies

Pune, 26th March 2025: A seminar on “Quantum Technology: Impact on Future Wars and Way Forward” was organized in Pune on 26 March 2025 by Headquarters Southern Command in collaboration with leading experts from industry and academia.
The disruptive role of quantum computing, cryptography and sensing in modern warfare was enumerated by senior government officials, eminent researchers and industry leaders. The keynote address was given by Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, Param Vishisht Seva Medal, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Command giving out the roadmap of the adoption of Quantum Technology.
Potential military applications of Quantum Technology as well as their impact on military strategies, emerging threats, and opportunities for integration into military operations were analysed and the need for collaborative efforts between the army, academia, and the private sector was emphasized.
