Purushottam Karandak Kicks Off with Enthusiastic Performances in Pune

Pune, 17th August 2024: The preliminary round of the Purushottam Karandak competition, organized by Maharashtriya Kalopasak, kicked off yesterday with great enthusiasm. Dr DY Patil B-School opened the competition with the one-act play ‘Bhridi’. The event is being held at Bharat Natya Mandir in Sadashiv Peth, from 5 PM to 8 PM. The competition will also continue on Sundays from 9 AM to 12 PM and from 5 PM to 8 PM.

This year marks the birth centenary of Rajabhau Natu, the founder of the tournament, and the 59th year of the event. The examiners for the preliminary round are Manjusha Joshi, Gopal Joshi, and Abhijit Makashir.

On the first day, PDEA’s College of Engineering, Manjari(Bk.) performed ‘Aata Vajav’, while Pune Vidhyarthi Griha’s College of Engineering and Technology presented ‘Bijagari’. A total of 51 one-act plays will be performed from 16th to 30th August.

COEP presented ‘Jeevan Sathe Underground’, Zeal College of Engineering and Research will perform ‘Parki?’, and P.E.S. Modern College of Engineering will present ‘Vimochanam’. The final round of the competition is scheduled for 21st and 22nd September, with the prize distribution ceremony for the preliminary round to be held on 28th September.
