Puranik Foundation  Impact India USA and India students cultural showcase

Vision International presented an inter-cultural showcase by their India and US students put together in a short span of ten days! The showcase realised how easy it is to learn from each other, bridge cultural understanding and strengthen global communities. Their goal was to create global understanding between students and give them a nuanced view of the world.

At the showcase audience witnessed a tremendous events of intercultural activities. where the American students even performed “Ramayana”. Every american student taught the Indian kids American plays like football, hanky Panky, duck duck goose, cha cha slide and many more. The American students shared their India journey and how they are fascinated by its culture and values. The event started with national anthems of both countries and ended with a soulful Vande Mataram. All three generations of Puranik were seemed to be a part of the event. It was truly an emotional yet fun filled event for all of them who were a part of it.

PF is based in HOUSTON, USA with its outreach in PUNE, INDIA. The founder, Mrs. Puranik has dedicated her life since 2000 to provide quality educational opportunities to underprivileged students, living off the grid in harmony with nature, and providing a platform for international study abroad, yoga, meditation & wellness programs. Mr. Puranik runs an oil and gas manufacturing MNC, Worldwide Oilfield Machine (WOM) headquartered in Houston, with operations in India and all other global oil and gas hubs. PF is the CSR arm of WOM and has been the prime supporter since conception.

Mrs. Puranik aka Mamaji started a residential school, Vision International Learning Center in 2003 on 24 acres of property on what Mamaji named ‘Samarthagad’, for underprivileged students from villages around Maharashtra. Vision international learning center accommodates about 80 students on campus today. We have trained staff who teach in English, Hindi, and Marathi. We focus on a holistic method of education where we take our classrooms outdoor and incorporate daily activities into our curriculum. We also have an orchestra and a fantastic sports team!

The Puranik Foundation is family run with three generations leading the way through humility and simple living. PF takes an open-minded an authentic approach to educate, build families and bridge communities. As a family, we believe, that we are all interconnected in some way. To us, learning is lifelong and therefore an integral part of society which impacts for generations. We invite you to be a part of this and make it yours, just as it is ours. Since we are all connected, together we can better the quality of life for all of humanity in any corner of the world.

IMPACT INDIA: Impact India is a service and leadership program, designed for high school students from the US to stay at our Samarthagad site in Pune and participate in cultural immersion. We have developed a ten-day workshop for students to learn about Indian culture and values. We introduce them to festivals, tradition, folk dances, art, language, and many other activities. Students open their minds to new possibilities and ways of living by experiencing timeless values and culture of India.
