Pune, 13th December 2023: In the vibrant city of Pune, known for its educational institutions, recent days have witnessed a concerning surge in crime rates and youth falling prey to substance abuse. Authorities are intensifying efforts to curb these issues, with a particular focus on cracking down on late-night establishments.

The youth in Pune are grappling with an alarming rise in addiction to intoxicants, contributing to the overall surge in criminal activities. Law enforcement and the administration are actively engaged in initiatives to address these challenges and protect the well-being of the community.

In response to the escalating concerns, authorities have taken decisive action against prominent restaurants in Pune that have been hosting loud parties into the late hours. The Maharashtra State Excise Department has specifically targeted restaurants operating beyond legal hours, both in the central city area and its suburbs.

The Maharashtra State Excise Department has recently cracked down on 10 renowned restaurants and pubs in Pune for various violations. These include playing loud music illegally, operating beyond permissible hours, failure to maintain liquor license records, and unauthorized sale of liquor. This intensive enforcement has taken place over the last eight days.

Areas such as Koregaon Park, Mundhwa, Bund Garden, Baner, Hinjawadi, and Balewadi, known for their vibrant nightlife and a high concentration of pubs, are witnessing targeted enforcement measures. Pubs, often luring the youth with discounts, have become a focal point in the ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the city.
