Pune’s Dr. Damodar Khadse to Receive ‘Rashtriya Hindi Seva Samman’ for Literary Excellence

Pune, 27th July 2024: Dr. Damodar Khadse, a celebrated Hindi author, has once again brought honor to Pune with his latest achievement. The acclaimed writer will be awarded the ‘Rashtriya Hindi Seva Samman’ by the Culture Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Hindi literature.

 

This award is designated for Hindi writers whose mother tongue is not Hindi. The award ceremony is set to take place in Bhopal on September 14, 2024, where the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh will present the honor. This esteemed award includes a cash prize of ₹5 lakh and a citation.

 

Dr. Khadse’s literary repertoire includes over fifty books across various genres, such as novels, short stories, poetry, reviews, travelogues, memoirs, and translations from Marathi to Hindi. His exceptional contributions to Hindi literature have garnered multiple awards, including two prestigious accolades from the President of India and the Sahitya Akademi Award, among numerous other honors. The Sahitya Akademi Award was bestowed upon him for his Hindi translation of the renowned Marathi novel ‘Baromas’.

 

His works have been translated into several Indian languages, including English, Marathi are featured prominently in the academic curricula of various universities. The critical examination of his work has resulted in more than half a dozen doctoral theses, highlighting his significant impact on the literary world.
