Pune’s College of Military Engineering Celebrates Graduation of 46 Army Officers in Engineering Courses

Pune, 7th December 2023: Gen Manoj Pande, Chief of Army Staff and Colonel Commandant, The Bombay Sappers today delivered the valedictory address to the officers of Engineer Officers Degree Engineering (EODE) and Technical Entry Scheme Courses during the Scroll Presentation Cum Convocation Ceremony at College of Military Engineering (CME), Dapodi, Pune.

A total of 46 Army officers of Engineer Officers Degree Engineering (EODE) Course –125 and Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Course – 40 including 7 officers from Friendly Foreign Countries have successfully completed their courses at CME, Pune. 32 Army Officers were awarded B Tech Degree in Civil Engineering, 7 Officers were awarded B Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering and 7 officers in B Tech Mechanical Engineering.

As a part of the ceremony, various Awards and Trophies were also conferred by the Army Chief to Meritorious student officers in their individual streams. Capt Navjeet Mishra was awarded with Prestigious Gold Medal for standing first in EODE -125 Course and Lt Amber Chaturvedi and Lt Sarthak Vyas were awarded Gold medal in TES – 40 course for standing first in Civil and Mechanical streams respectively.

COAS in his valedictory address emphasised that graduating officers would encounter numerous challenges multiplexed with increasing complexities due to the requirements of the national security, mostly in inhospitable terrains. To meet such challenges, he urged the student officers to keep abreast with the latest advancements and to incorporate best engineering practices in respective engineering streams.

After graduation, these officers will be proceeding to respective units to be employed in active combat engineering tasks, prestigious construction projects by Military Engineering Services, Border Road Organisation and other tasks of nation building.
