Pune: Youths Throw Stones At Police In Warje When They Try To Close Pan Shop At Midnight

Warje, 16th December 2022: While on night patrol, the police who went to disperse the crowd seen in front of the pan masala shop were beaten, and stones were thrown at them.

 

The incident took place at Warje Ganpati Matha around 1.15 am on Thursday (15th December).

 

A case has been registered against Digvijay Kakaram Waghmare (19), a resident of Ramnagar, Warje, Venkatesh Pramod Pilvankar (19), Amol Nilesh Pawar, Lalya Khan, Appa Londhe, Khandya Waghmare, and four others. Police constable Govind Phad has filed a complaint in this matter. Among them, Digvijay, Venkatesh, and Amol have been arrested.

 

 

According to the information given by the police, Senior Inspector Dagdu Hake of Warje Police Station was patrolling along with the complainant Phad. At that time, a crowd was seen in front of the Royal Pan Shop at Ganpati Matha.

 

While closing the pan masala shop and removing the crowd, the accused started pelting stones at the police by gathering an illegal crowd. The boys then ran away to a nearby street. The police chased and arrested three of them and started searching for the other accused.
