Pune: Youths Indulge In Violent Clash In Vadgaonsheri, FIR Filed Against Four For Assault and Intimidation

Vadgaonsheri, 28th December 2023: A shocking incident took place in Vadgaonsheri on December 24th, as Saurabh Padle (22), a resident of the area, filed a First Information Report (FIR) at Chandan Nagar police station against four individuals for a brutal assault.

The accused, identified as Anuj Jitendra Yadav (19), Harikesh Tuntan Chavan (18), Akash Bharat Pawar (23), and Amol Vasant Chorghade (30), all residents of Vadgaonsheri, now face charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Arms Act, and the Maharashtra Police Act.

 

 

The incident occurred around 10.45 pm near Pawan Super Market on the road leading from Anand Park to Vadgaonsheri. According to the complaint, Padle and his friend Hrishikesh approached Akash Pawar to settle a quarrel, leading to an altercation. Pawar allegedly slapped Hrishikesh, and Anuj Yadav, armed with an iron weapon, viciously stabbed Hrishikesh on his right hand, wrist, and head. The assailants also pelted him with stones and bricks.

When Padle and two friends attempted to intervene, Yadav assaulted them with a chopper, resulting in injuries, particularly to Padle’s head. The assailants, brandishing weapons and threatening bystanders, fled the scene, instilling terror and vowing to prevent anyone from interfering.

Assistant Police Inspector Nilesh Ghorpade is leading the investigation into this grave incident.

The FIR lists multiple charges, including IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt), 143 (unlawful assembly), 144 (joining unlawful assembly armed with a deadly weapon), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting with an armed weapon), and 149 (unlawful assembly with a common objective).
