Pune, 1st July 2024: A monsoon outing turned tragic when a youth from Pimpri Chinchwad was swept away in a waterfall in Tamhini Ghat. Swapnil Dhawde, who had gone with a group of 32 others from his gym, disappeared in the strong currents after jumping into the water.

The group had traveled to Plus Valley in Tamhini Ghat, Mulshi Taluka, for a weekend outing on Saturday. A viral video shows Dhawde jumping from a height into the waterfall. Despite his efforts to swim, he was quickly overtaken by the powerful currents.

Search operations were immediately launched, but authorities were unable to locate Dhawde on Saturday or Sunday.
