Pune: Youth Sharing Pictures With Weapon On Social Media To Create Terror Arrested, Case Registered
Hadapsar 11th July 2023 : The Crime Branch Unit 5 of Pune City Police has arrested two youths for allegedly possession weapons and sharing pictures with it on social media platforms. The accused identified as Arshad Sharif Patel (21) and Umar Salim Shaikh (19) both residents of Uruli Devachi area were arrested by police from Hadapsar in two different cases.
According to police, during a combing operation on July 8 the crime branch officials received inputs about two men possessing weapons in Birajdarnagar and Mohammadwadi Road area of Hadapsar. Accordingly, the police team led by Police Inspector Ulhas Kadam of crime branch raided both locations and the accused were arrested.
During the investigation it has been revealed that the accused had shared pictures with weapon on their social media profiles to create terror among citizens in the area.
Police have seized two sharp weapons from their possession and two seperate cases under relevant sections have been registered at Hadapsar and Wanawadi Police Stations in the matter. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
