Pune : Woman Forced To Rub Nose On Ground By In-Laws And Doctor Husband For Money, Case Registered
Pune 22nd Sept 2023: A doctor family from Pune district has been booked by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police for allegedly harassing a woman after marriage to demand money from her parents. The accused allegedly forced the victim to rub nose on the ground and she was asked to leave home by in-laws when she did not get money.
According to police, the woman died by suicide after she was asked to leave home by in laws. The victim’s brother has lodged a complaint at the Dighi Police Station in the matter. The complainant has alleged in his complaint that in-laws of her sister were demanding money to build a hospital from his parents and when she refused to get it they started harassing her. They even forced her to rub nose on the ground and manhandled her on multiple occasions between 2012 and 2023.
The woman was married to a doctor identified as Abhijeet Ashok Shinde (40) from Dudulgaon, Pune in 2012. Her father-in-law Ashok Baburao Shinde (67) who is also a doctor by profession has also been booked by police in the case. Besides, the victim’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law have also been named in the FIR. The accused have been booked under sections 498 (a), 306, 323, 504 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation in the matter is underway.
