Pune : Woman Farmer in Shirur Seeks Government Grant to Purchase Helicopter To Reach Farm Due To Absence Of Road

Pune 24th July 2023: A woman from Shirur Taluka has made a request for a government grant to purchase a helicopter, citing the lack of proper road access to her farm and the unavailability of officials from the concerned department to visit the site. She wrote to the Tehsildar after the local officers did not visit her farm despite receiving an official order.

Latabai Bhaskar Hinge, a farmer from Nimone, Shirur, had submitted an application requesting the construction of a road to her farm. However, despite immediate orders from Tehsildar to conduct a site inspection by the relevant department officials, they failed to visit the location and delayed the matter.

Hinge attempted several times to meet the concerned officials to discuss the matter and expedite the site visit. However, even after multiple attempts, she was unable to secure a meeting with them. The officials kept giving excuses to avoid visiting her farm.

Without a proper road to her farm, Latabai faced challenges in harvesting her crops and was worried of transporting her produce to the main road. Feeling helpless, she resorted to the idea of purchasing a helicopter to facilitate transportation of her farm produce and applied for a government grant or assistance to buy a helicopter from the Tehsildar’s office in Shirur.
