Pune: Woman Dies in Accident at Katraj Chowk; Third Fatality at Same Spot
Katraj, 18th September 2024: A young woman tragically lost her life in an accident involving a tanker and a two-wheeler at Katraj Chowk on Tuesday (17th September) around 6:30 am. This marks the third death at the same location in recent days.
The victim has been identified as Manasi Ashok Pawar (26), a resident of Ambegaon Pathar. According to reports, Manasi was riding her Vespa scooter towards Katraj Kondhwa Road when she was struck by an unidentified tanker, resulting in her death on the spot.
Katraj Chowk has become a site of frequent accidents, with three fatalities reported in the past few days. Earlier, a contract PMPML worker and another young woman lost their lives in separate accidents.
Assistant Police Inspector Sameer Shende stated that the victim’s body has been sent to Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway by Bharti University Police.
