Pune: Wings Pediatric Physiotherapy Center Hosts Street Play to Raise Autism Awareness

Pune, 11th April 2025: As part of its ongoing Autism Awareness Drive, Wings Pediatric Physiotherapy Center organized a compelling street play at Lonkar Garden on Salunkhe Vihar Road to highlight the importance of early autism detection and the adverse effects of excessive screen time on young children.
The initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Jasneet Kaur, Founder of Wings and a seasoned pediatric physiotherapist with over a decade of experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
“We’ve seen a significant increase in autism cases post-COVID. Prolonged screen exposure and limited peer interaction during lockdowns have deeply impacted developmental milestones,” said Dr. Jasneet.
Wings Pediatric Physiotherapy Center provides holistic, multidisciplinary therapy services under one roof. These include Sensory Integration Therapy, Speech Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Visual Rehabilitation, Oral and Feeding Therapy, Group Therapy, and Parent Counseling. The center’s child-friendly environment is designed to foster learning and development through structured, play-based, and interactive sessions.
The street play used relatable storytelling, personified characters—including a mobile phone—and real-life-inspired scenarios to show how screen addiction can delay speech and cognitive development, often masking early signs of autism. The performance received an enthusiastic response, especially from parents, who appreciated the informative and engaging approach.
The dedicated team behind this awareness initiative includes Dr. Priti Tambe, Dr. Maithili Kapil, Dr. Shweta Thorwade, Dr. Akanksha Kushwaha, Dr. Madhurya Duse, and Nikita Shinde. Together, they aim to empower children and families with timely interventions and personalized therapeutic care.
