Mayur Munde, a staunch BJP supporter of PM Modi in Pune, had erected a ‘Modi temple’ by giving Modi the status of a god. However, the idol of PM Modi was removed from the temple after it became a topic of discussion.

While the discussion on the removal of the idol was rife following an order from the Prime Minister’s Office, Munde, who installed the idol, revealed the reason behind the removal of the idol. He said that he had erected the idol in a good spirit and also explained why the idol of PM Modi was removed.

“The sentiment for building a temple was and is very good. But yesterday I got a call from senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party. They made me understand that building a temple and worshiping a living person in this way is not in line with the principles and ideology of the BJP. Also, the sentiments we have in our minds about Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be kept in our minds without building temples on the streets and advertising them. I have been told to act and act accordingly. That is why I have kept this idol in the office of the local corporator,” said Munde.

Citizens had flocked to see this temple of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many people came here and even touched the feet of the idol. A special poem written for Prime Minister Modi was also erected near the temple. Modi supporters had claimed that the Modi temple was built under the inspiration of the construction of the Ram temple. However, BJP city president Yogesh Mulik clarified that the party had nothing to do with the construction of this temple.

Munde, a BJP activist and president of Namo Pratishthan, had built the Modi temple at Parihar Chowk in Aundh. An idol of Modi was installed in this temple. Munde had spent Rs 1 lakh 60 thousand for this. An idol of Modi was made and brought from Jaipur through Diwanshu Tiwari, a businessman from Pimpri-Chinchwad. A poem composed by Munde on Modi’s work was displayed in the Darshan area. Also, information about Modi’s work was given on a nearby board. It was claimed that the temple was built in a private space.
