Pune, 3rd October 2026: Pune is beginning to feel the effects of the October heat, with both maximum and minimum temperatures rising above seasonal averages in the first few days of the month. Despite the recent withdrawal of the monsoon, residents are experiencing rising daytime temperatures and increased discomfort at night.

On Friday (October 2), the maximum temperature in Pune rose to 34°C, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 22.5°C. The increase came after maximum temperatures had remained around 30°C to 32°C over the past few days.

The heat became noticeable from the morning, with the sun growing stronger by around 9 am to 10 am. With temperatures rising soon after the monsoon’s departure, residents have increasingly been relying on fans and air conditioners for relief.

The sky remained mostly clear throughout Friday, although partly cloudy conditions developed towards the evening.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a further rise in daytime temperatures on Saturday (October 3). The maximum temperature is expected to reach 35°C, while the minimum is likely to remain around 22°C.

According to the IMD, the sky will remain mostly clear, with partly cloudy conditions likely to develop during the afternoon or evening. The forecast suggests that Pune residents may continue to experience warm conditions over the weekend.
