Pune, 26th August 2024: Ramdas Athawale, a politician from Maharashtra, was appointed as the Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment following the recent Lok Sabha elections. He was honoured by activists of the Republican Party of India – Athawale (RPI-A) in Pune for being appointed as a Union Minister for the third time. During his interaction with the media, Athawale expressed disappointment with the Mahayuti alliance.

Ramdas Athawale said, “In Maharashtra, our party holds significant power. We are strong in Vidarbha, Marathwada, Western Maharashtra, Konkan, and everywhere. Despite the injustice in the Lok Sabha elections, we faithfully worked for the Mahayuti. However, the BJP and Shiv Sena should grant us honourable seats. It is a historical fact that those we align with come to power. It is true that we did not receive fair treatment in the Mahayuti.”

Athawale continued, “Now, there is no doubt that the sentiments of the activists have intensified. Considering the strong feelings of our workers, there is a demand for twelve seats in Maharashtra. The NDA has had the chance to govern for the third time in the country, and there is a sense of joy in the society as I have also been appointed as a minister. Despite all the opposition uniting to defeat Modi, those who campaigned against reservations and showed constant disrespect for the Constitution are now claiming to save it. The Central Government has made many important decisions, including pension reforms. Our Government will last for five years, and the NDA will also come to power for a fourth term.”

Athawale also condemned the Badlapur incident as a serious disgrace. He called for strict laws, the death penalty, fast-track court trials, and increased parental vigilance to prevent such occurrences.
