Pune: Warje Boy Found Dead After Drowning in Abandoned Mine; Accidental Death Case Registered

Warje, 17th August 2024: A schoolboy died after drowning in a mine in the Ram Nagar area of Warje, Pune. The deceased has been identified as Daksh Sushant Kamble, a 13-year-old resident of Ram Nagar, Warje. Daksh, a seventh-standard student at a school in Shivane, went swimming in the stagnant water of the mine with his friends on the afternoon of Thursday (15th August). He drowned after misjudging the depth of the water.

His friends, who were present at the time, were too afraid to inform anyone about the incident. When Daksh did not return home by evening, his family inquired with his friends and learned that he had gone swimming in the mine. The incident was then reported to the police. Police and Fire Brigade personnel conducted a search operation, and Daksh’s body was recovered from the water at night. An accidental death case has been registered at the Warje Malwadi Police Station.
