Pune: Wanowrie Police Arrest Two Criminals Involved in Gold Ornament Thefts from Female Travelers

Wanowrie, 16th April 2023: The Wanowrie Police have arrested two criminals who targeted female travelers and stole gold ornaments from them.

 

The incident was reported on April 2 when a woman who had traveled from Latur to Pune with her gold ornaments noticed that her jewelry weighing 10 tolas was missing from her bag. She lodged a complaint with the Wanowrie Police Station, and an investigation was launched.

 

The police team, led by Senior Police Inspector Bhausaheb Patare, analyzed the CCTV footage of the buses and identified the suspects. They tracked them down to Gangakhed in Parbhani district, where they were arrested and brought to Pune.

 

The accused, identified as Shiva Raju Shide (30) and K Teja K Sagar (20), both residents of Gangakhed in Parbhani district, confessed to the crime, and stolen gold worth Rs. 3,64,000/- weighing 86 grams was recovered from them.

 

The investigation team included Police Inspector (Crime) Sandeep Shivle, Police Sub-Inspectors Santosh Sonwane, Ajay Bhosale, and police personnel Vinod Bhandalkar, Atul Gaikwad, Amjad Pathan, Santosh Naik, Mahesh Gadwe, Sandeep Salve, Vishnu Sutar, Rahul Gosavi, Nilkanth Rathod, Amol Gaikwad, Vitthal Chormale, and Sonam Bhagat.
