Pune: Waiter Brutally Attacked for Denying Entry to Pub, One Person Arrested
Koregaon Park, 29th May 2023: A shocking incident unfolded in the Mundhwa area when three individuals attempted to murder a waiter for denying them entry into a pub late at night. The incident occurred near Tadigutta Chowk on ABC road around 2:30 am on Saturday (27th).
Dhirendra Awadesh Chauhan, a 27-year-old resident of Dhairkar Colony in Mundhwa, lodged a complaint at Mundhwa Police Station, Pune City Police, regarding the incident. The police have filed a case of culpable homicide and apprehended one of the accused, identified as 20-year-old Abid Yusuf Khan from Lohianagar.
Dhirendra, employed as a waiter at Orilla Restaurant, was accompanied by his colleague Vikram Udain during the incident.
As they approached Tadigutta Chowk, Abid Yusuf Khan and his two accomplices intercepted them. The assailants held Vikram, while one of them attacked Dhirendra from behind, repeatedly stabbing him in the back and head. The attacker, furious at being denied entry to the pub, shouted, “Why didn’t you let him in?”
The vicious assault left Dhirendra with severe injuries, and he is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Jore has been assigned to conduct further investigations.
