Baramati, 3rd September 2024: Just like the Lok Sabha elections, the Legislative Assembly Elections in Baramati are expected to intensify, potentially leading to another contest within the Pawar family. From the Nationalist Congress Sharadchandra Pawar Party (NCP-SP), Yugendra Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s nephew, might run. He has become increasingly active in the constituency, meeting many people.

Yesterday, Ajit Pawar was in Baramati as part of the Jansamvad Yatra, a campaign taking place across Maharashtra, where he addressed the crowd. In his speech, Ajit Pawar targeted the other faction of the Pawar family and delivered sharp criticisms.

Ajit Pawar said, “In previous elections in Baramati, members of the Pawar family weren’t seen going around, but now, many members of the family are visibly active in Baramati. Both sides of the Pawar family are going door to door, inquiring about people. I have no objections to that. However, it’s up to the voters to decide what should be done next.”

Jay Pawar Hints at Potential Candidacy from Baramati

A few days ago, Ajit Pawar mentioned that he is no longer interested in contesting from Baramati, sparking discussions that his younger son, Jay Pawar, might run this time. Speaking to the media and responding to questions about his potential candidacy, Jay Pawar said, “My desire is always to help everyone, just as Ajit Pawar has worked in the constituency. That’s how people want things done. The youth are motivated, and everyone wants it. They used to say, ‘Dada, now it’s your turn.’ But let’s see. Dada and the senior party leaders will make the decision.”

Ajit Pawar to Run for Chief Minister?

Yesterday, the Jansanman Yatra covered all of Baramati with banners and flexes of Ajit Pawar, who has served as Deputy Chief Minister a record five times, promoting him as the next Chief Minister. Even Jay Pawar said, “This time, the rally went well. The Jansanman rally is getting a good response. Last time, it was raining, but now everything is in place. The public’s response is also better than before. Everyone wants to make Ajit Dada the Chief Minister. This is everyone’s desire.”
