Pune: Violent Dispute in Baramati: Man Shot Over Bull Sale Payment

Baramati, 28th June 2024: A shocking incident occurred in the Baramati area where a young man was shot in the head while selling a bull for a bullock cart race. A case has been registered against three individuals, including two sons of the former president of Someshwar Cooperative Sugar Factory, Shahaji Kakade, at Vadgaon Nimbalkar Police Station. The injured victim, Ranjit Nimbalkar from Phaltan, District Satara, is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Baramati.

According to police reports, Ranjit had sold a bull named ‘Sundar’ to accused Gautam Kakade for Rs 37 lakh, with Rs 5 lakh given as advance. On Thursday (27th June) night, Ranjit visited Kakade’s house with his family to collect the remaining amount. Gautam Kakade insisted that Ranjit sign a stamp paper before receiving the money, leading to an argument. When Ranjit attempted to leave, Gautam called his brother Gaurav and another accomplice, who threatened and assaulted Ranjit. During the altercation, Gaurav Kakade pulled out a pistol and shot Ranjit in the head, stating he would not allow him to take the bull.

Assistant Police Inspector Rahul Ghuge is conducting further investigation into the matter.
