Pune: Video Surfaces as 27 Vehicles Fall Victim to Vandalism in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Pimpri-Chinchwad, 25th September 2024: A wave of vehicle vandalism has struck the city, with a total of 27 four-wheelers reported damaged in various areas. The Chinchwad police have detained two minors in connection with the incidents, while other suspects in the Sangvi area remain at large.

The recent spate of vandalism occurred in the Akurdi, Nigdi, and Sangvi neighborhoods, with 15 vehicles vandalized near the Akurdi Gurdwara, five in Nigdi, and seven within the Sangvi police station limits. The incidents took place around midnight, and a video capturing the vandalism has emerged, showing individuals wielding sticks and damaging the parked cars.

This is not the first occurrence of such vandalism in the area; previously, 14 vehicles were also vandalized within the Sangvi police station limits. Although some suspects were arrested then, the issue appears to have resurfaced, leading to renewed concern among residents.

The Chinchwad police have detained two minors, but Sangvi and Nigdi police are still searching for additional suspects involved in this latest round of vehicle damage. Local authorities are urging residents to report any suspicious activity and remain vigilant as investigations continue.
