Pune, 4th July 2024: Prominent Pune political leader Vasant More is set to join the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party, as confirmed by Shiv Sena UBT leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut. More recently parted ways with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) after 18 years of service, primarily due to not being allowed to contest the Pune Lok Sabha constituency.

After his departure from the MNS, More joined the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) to contest the elections but failed to secure his deposit. He is now poised to join the Shiv Sena (UBT).

Supported in his electoral bid by Prakash Ambedkar of the VBA, More faced a significant defeat. Now, there is a strong possibility of him joining the Uddhav Sena. He is scheduled to meet Shiv Sena UBT Chief Uddhav Thackeray today. Speaking to the press earlier, MP Sanjay Raut stated, “More is coming to us.”

Sources indicate that More may have an opportunity to contest the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections from either the Khadakwasla or Hadapsar constituencies. Today, More will meet Thackeray at Matoshree Bungalow, where a decision regarding his future is anticipated after their discussion.
