Pune: Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi Activists Vandalize School Van in Protest of Sexual Assault Incident

Hadapsar, 4th October 2024: The school van, which was confiscated by the Pune Police due to a sexual assault on a schoolgirl, was vandalized in anger by activists of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA). As a result, a case has been registered against nine activists and office bearers of the VBA at Hadapsar Police Station.

Among those charged are Vishal Kasbe, Dharmaraj Yadav Landge, Milind Haridas Sarawade, Vishal Wanjari, and Sachin Bhadakwad. Police Constable Jyotiba Kurale from Wanowrie Police Station reported the incident to Hadapsar Police Station.

A shocking incident involving the sexual molestation of a six-year-old girl by a student transport van driver has come to light. Sanjay Jeting Reddy (age 45, resident of Hadapsar) was arrested by Wanowrie Police in connection with this case. According to information provided by the police, the vehicle involved in the registered crime in Wanowrie was seized and taken to a ‘safe’ location. VBA activists who came to protest the incident pelted stones at the van and vandalized it.

The Hadapsar police are currently investigating the case.
