Pune: Uruli Kanchan Police Station Inaugurated, Deputy CM Pawar Pledges Support For Strengthening Police Force

Uruli Kanchan, 20th January 2024: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar emphasized the government’s commitment to fortify the police department, urging them to maintain law and order effectively while enhancing their public image. He made these remarks during the inauguration ceremony of the Uruli Kanchan Police Station.

The event was attended by MLA Ashok Pawar, Rahul Kul, Special Inspector General of Police (Kolhapur range) Sunil Phulari, District Superintendent of Police Ankit Goyal, and other prominent officials.

During the ceremony, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar announced the approval of 100 posts for the newly inaugurated police station, encouraging stringent measures against crime. He assured financial support from the District Annual Plan Fund for infrastructure development within the Police Department, covering essentials such as vehicles, modern systems, and housing projects.

Pawar emphasized the importance of police officers’ well-being and called for training in modern technology to combat cybercrimes effectively. He stressed the need to refrain from glorifying criminals and urged the police to stay vigilant against criminal activities. Pawar affirmed that the police should operate without external pressures and encouraged a modern, community-oriented approach to policing.

Acknowledging the population growth in Uruli Kanchan village, Pawar addressed the citizens’ demands for a municipal council, promising to address traffic congestion on the Pune-Solapur highway passing through the village.

MLA Pawar highlighted three years of efforts to establish the police station, addressing the needs of the growing population in Uruli Kanchan. Additional initiatives, such as an approved Additional Tehsil Office and demands for a municipal council and rural hospital, were also discussed. Efforts to alleviate traffic congestion and advance the village’s development were pledged.

In his introduction, SP Goyal shared the historical context of the Uruli Kanchan Police Station, explaining its evolution from an old police post to a fully-fledged station. He outlined the station’s jurisdiction over ten villages and expressed a commitment to resolving traffic issues and controlling crime in the region.
