Pune university students to get Rs 50,000 accidental cover

Pune – The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has made radical changes in the form of Student Accidental Security Insurance Scheme for the academic year 2018-19. Under this, after getting hurt in the accident, the students will get help for medical expenses up to Rs 50,000. Earlier this aid was only Rs 5000.

Student Security Insurance Scheme is implemented by Pune University Student Development Board. Under this scheme, 10 rupees is taken from the students admitted in colleges affiliated to the University of Pune. The University has signed an Accidental Insurance Cover with United India Insurance. Students of affiliated colleges and affiliated institutions in Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts will benefit from this scheme. About 3.6 lakhs students will benefit from this scheme.
