Pune, February 7, 2021: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) may hold online exams for the first semester this year. The decision will be taken in an upcoming meeting of the university exam board on Tuesday (February 9).

Due to Covid-19 outbreak, a lockdown was imposed in the city. The University had to take an online exam for final year and other courses. Initially, it was difficult to hold an online exam but later on, the procedure got easier for both students and professors as well.

Moreover, the results were also prepared with fewer efforts and time compared to the offline procedure.  The demand was made to hold the online exam for the first semester as the infrastructure is already developed for the online exam.

As the admission procedure was delayed this year, there is a short period for syllabus completion. Also, the offline exam procedure is time-consuming and it will need more time to prepare results which will ultimately impact on next semester as well, said the officials.

As of now, no decision has been taken regarding the exam. It will be decided after the discussion with all members of the University exam board in the upcoming meeting, a senior official said.
