Pune, 13th January 2024: Shivajinagar MLA Siddharth Shirole took to Twitter (X) yesterday to announce the implementation of a new traffic flow pattern on University Road. The trial period for these changes is set to commence on Monday, January 15th, as part of ongoing efforts to alleviate traffic congestion, especially during peak hours at University Junction.

Having engaged in discussions with various stakeholders, including Pune Police traffic branch officials, Shirole, and the police team visited the junction to assess the upcoming trial of the new traffic flow. The proposed changes involve reopening the road from University Chowk to Baner Road, which was previously closed. Additionally, a dedicated lane will be designated to ensure smooth traffic flow from University Road to Pashan.

A key modification includes the installation of a new traffic signal at the Nexa Showroom junction after Abhimanshree Society. This signal will regulate traffic from Pashan to University Road and from University Chowk to Baner Road.

Expressing his commitment to the community, Shirole mentioned that he, along with police officials, will be personally present at the University Junction on Monday at 11:00 AM. Their goal is to review the traffic flow and gauge the public response to the altered traffic pattern.
