Pune : Unidentified People Try To Steal LPG Gas From Main Pipeline Of Hindustan Petroleum, Case Registered

Pune 28th August 2023: In a shocking incident reported at Shinde village in Khed on Saturday, few unidentified people have tried to steal LPG gas from the main pipeline of Hindustan Petroleum by tapping it. The alert officials of the company immediately rushed to the spot and after finding the possible attempt they lodged a complaint with police in the matter.

According to the complaint registered with police, the thieves had tapped the pipeline near a factory in Shinde village and they had connected a hose pipe with a wall to the pipeline to steal LPG gas from it. However, since the company has installed seasons across the pipeline the officials were immediately alerted and the incident was reported to police. According to police, the LPG pipeline is the main line that comes from Uran and goes further to Shikrapur plant. The police said that the company officials have not reported theft of the LPG gas but they have only complained about an attempt to steal it from the main pipeline.

However, the police further said that a serious incident was averted as the leakage in the main pipeline could have invited a major tragedy. A case under sections 15 (2) of the Petroleum and Mineral Pipeline Act 1962 (Amended). Further investigation in the matter is underway.
