Pune: Trees Cut To Make Advertisement Hoarding Visible On Road, Hoarding Owner Booked By Police

Pune 2nd August 2023 : The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have booked a hoarding owner for allegedly cutting five trees in Moshi area of the city to make the commercial advertisements on the hoarding visible for commuters. The incident took place on July 22 near Royal Palm Society in Moshi area.

According to the complaint, the hoarding structure is owned by Sairaj Hoarding Company and the branches of trees were covering the commercial advertisements placed on the hoarding. Due to this, the accused allegedly cut the trees without taking any permission from the concerned authorities.

A case in this regard has been registered at Bhosari MIDC police station on July 31 under sections 3(1) and 4 of the Maharashtra Felling of Trees (Regulation) Act, 1964 along with section 21 (1) of the Maharashtra (Urban areas) Protection and Prevention of Trees Act 1975. Police have booked hoarding owner in the case. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
