Pune: Tragic Death of Youth at Alandi Bus Stop as Vehicle Runs Over Him While Seeking Rain Shelter

Dighi, 2nd July 2024: A young laborer, Kapil Vilas Ankure, aged 21 and a resident of Parbhani, met a tragic end when an unidentified vehicle fatally ran over him while he sought shelter from the rain under a banner. The incident occurred on Monday (1st) around 9:30 AM near Alandi Bus Stop.

According to Senior Police Inspector Vijay Dhamal of Dighi Police Station, the police received information from Ashok about the incident at an open ground near Alandi Bus Stand. Upon arriving at the scene, senior officers found Kapil’s body under a banner. He succumbed to head injuries caused by a wheel running over his head, as confirmed by the post-mortem report at the hospital.

During the monsoon season, many laborers use banners and plastic sheets to shield themselves from rain while seeking shelter on open grounds. Despite these precautions, Kapil’s tragic death underscores the risks faced by vulnerable individuals in such circumstances.
