Pune : Traffic Movement And PMPML Routes Diverted For Next Few Days For Ganeshotsava, Know Details
Pune 16th Sept 2023: As the city is geared up to celebrate the much awaited ganesh festival, a heavy crowd of devotees is expected on the roads for the next few days. As a result, the traffic department has issued diversions on some routes for the next three days to avoid traffic jams.
The traffic department has also released a list of places where parking facilities have been created for the visitors to avoid traffic jams. Besides. several PMPML buses have also been diverted during the festival period. The below changes in the traffic movement will be effective between September 17 and September 19.
Diversions :
Traffic Arrangements
1) Shivaji Road will remain closed for vehicular traffic from Gadgil Putla Chowk to Gotiram Bhaiyya Chowk.
Alternative Routes:
– From Gadgil Putla Chowk, take a left turn towards Santaji Ghorpade Path, then reach Kumarves Chowk, Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk, and proceed to your desired destination.
– From Shivajinagar, heading towards Shivaji Road, drivers should avoid taking a right turn at S.G. Barve Chowk. Instead, continue straight on JM Road and take a left turn at Khandoji Baba Chowk, Tilak Chowk Road to reach Tilak Road.
– Drivers heading from Jhansi Rani Chowk to Sude Chowk, and then towards Kumbharves via Dengale Bridge, should travel via Khadde Chowk – PMC – Mangala theatre Lane and Kumaras or
Premier Garage Chowk – Gadgil Statue via Shivaji Bridge Road – Kumbharves Chowk
2) Savarkar Statue Chowk to Samadhan Bhel Center (Sinhgad Road)
During the Ganapati idol sale period, both sides of the road will remain open but parking of the vehicles will not be allowed anywhere on the road.
* Barricades and ropes will be used as necessary.
Parking Arrangements:
1. From Mitramandal Chowk to Patil Plaza
2. From Jamnalal Bajaj Statue to Puram Chowk, the right side of the road
3. From Nilayam Bridge to Sinhgad Road Junction
Roads Open to Traffic:
All the roads mentioned below will remain open for all types of vehicles (except heavy vehicles).
4. From Phadke Haud Chowk to Jijamata Chowk via Footka Buruj
2. From Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk via Moti Chowk
3. Sonya Maruti Chowk to Belbaug Cowk via Sevasadan Chowk
4. On the Minwahan and Aryan Parking facilities in Mandai
5. At Shahu Chowk (Only the left side of the road from Fergusson College Road Junction to Rashtra Bhushan Chowk)
PMPML Buses Diversion :
1. Buses heading from Shivajinagar Bus Stand towards Swargate will go through Shivaji Bridge, passing through S.G. Barve Chowk. From there, they will take Jungli Maharaj Road to Tilak Road to reach Swargate
2. Buses going to Swargate from the Corporation Bus Stop will take Jungli Maharaj Road via Jhansi Rani Chowk, Alka Talkies Chowk, Tilak Road, and Shastri Road to reach Swargate.
