Pune Traffic Alert: Maratha Reservation March On Jan 23-24, Police Issue Diversion Routes

Wagholi, 22nd January 2024: In anticipation of a large-scale Maratha Reservation March led by activist Manoj Jarange Patil, the Pune City Police Traffic Branch has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for the affected areas. The march is scheduled to take place on January 23 and 24, said DCP Shashikant Borate.

Traffic Diversion Plan for January 23, 2024:
1. Mumbai–Pune Expressway and Kolhapur, Satara to Ahmednagar:
– Vehicles will be diverted via Katraj – Khadi Machine Chowk – Mantarwadi Phata – Hadapsar through Solapur Road, Kedgaon Chaufula – Nhavare – Shirur.

2. Ahmednagar via Wagholi, Lonikand:
– Diverted from Theur Phata (Solapur Road) to Shirur to Ahmednagar via Kedgaon Chaufula – Nhavare.

3. Ahmednagar from Pune city:
– Vehicles will take a right turn at Kharadi Bypass to Magarpatta Chowk – Left turn at Solapur Road via Yavat – Kedgaon Chaufula – Nhavare – Shirur.

Traffic Diversion Plan for January 24, 2024:
1. Vehicles from Ahmednagar towards Pune city:
– Diverted to Solapur Road via Kesnand Theur from Theur Phata (Lonikand).

2. Wagholi area:
– Diverted to Wagholi – Awhalwadi – Manjari Khurd – Manjari Budruk – Keshav Nagar – Mundhwa Chowk.

3. Ahmednagar from Pune city:
– Diverted to Ahmednagar via Alandi Road Junction, Vishrantwadi – Dhanori Lohegaon Wagholi from Chandrama Chowk.

There are demands for the closure of primary schools on January 23 and 24 to avoid traffic congestion. Residents are urged to follow all traffic rules and cooperate with the traffic police to ensure smooth movement during the march.
