Pune: Three Youths Dead In Road Accident Near Wagholi

Wagholi, 29th April 2024: A devastating accident took place on the Ashtavinayak highway between Bakori and Theur, right in front of the Jogeshwari temple on Sunday. The collision, involving a container and a car, resulted in the loss of three lives, with the fourth passenger battling critical injuries.

The incident occurred when a group of seven young men from Shikrapur embarked on a pilgrimage journey to Theur for darshan. Among them, three individuals were traveling in a newly purchased car, while the remaining four rode in another vehicle. The second car collided head-on with a container traveling from the opposite direction, resulting in a catastrophic impact that left the car completely mangled and its occupants trapped inside.

Upon receiving news of the accident, Police Inspector (Crime) Seema Dhakne, along with Sub-Inspector Rahul Kolpe, Vaidyanath Kedar, Pradeep Bhujbal, and Vishal Gaikwad from the Lonikand Police Station, coordinated efforts to extricate the injured passengers with the assistance of local citizens. Despite their prompt efforts, three of the injured succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

The deceased were identified as Ganesh Jadhav (32 years old), Vinod Bhojne (36 years old), and Vitthal Jogdand (36 years old), all residents of Shikrapur.
