Pune: Three Injured in PMPML Bus Accident at Nehru Road Bus Stop

Pune, 28th September 2024: A speeding PMPML bus collided with a woman passenger at a bus stop in front of Sonwane Hospital on Nehru Road, resulting in injuries to three individuals, including the woman. The bus also struck a nearby rickshaw during the incident.

The injured have been identified as Yuvraj Baban Navale (from Kuran, Taluka Junnar), Kusum Vishwanath Londhe from Tadiwala Road, and Farooq Shaikh, the rickshaw driver. A case has been registered against the bus driver, Ganesh Balasaheb Naikal (35, resident of Kharadi), following a complaint filed by Kishore Balaji Pardeshi (38, resident of Ganj Peth) at the Khadak Police Station.

According to police, Navale and Londhe were waiting at the PMPML bus stop in front of Sonwane Hospital around 9 AM on Friday when the speeding bus struck them. The impact also sent the bus crashing into a rickshaw parked a short distance away.

All three injured individuals were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. Navale sustained serious injuries in the accident. Following the incident, Senior Police Inspector Shashikant Chavan and Crime Branch Police Inspector Sharmila Sutar visited the spot to assess the situation. The police have stated that the accident occurred due to the negligence of bus driver Naikal. Constable Yelpley is leading the investigation into the incident.
