Pune: Thieves Target Alan Walker’s Concert, Steal 36 Mobile Phones, 4 Arrested

Kharadi, 21st October 2024: A live concert by DJ and music producer Alan Walker, held at a ground in Kharadi on October 18, was marred by a series of thefts as a gang of thieves stole 36 mobile phones from the spectators. The Pune police have arrested four individuals in connection with the thefts, all of whom hail from Mumbai and Hyderabad.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Syed Mohammad Idris Shaikh (21, Mumbai), Akhil Venkataramana Godavari (24, Hyderabad), Lokesh Hanumant Pujari (31, Mumbai), and Pappu Bhagirathi Vaishya (24, Mumbai).

According to the officials from Chandan Nagar police station, the concert was organized on the grounds of a school in Kharadi, where a large crowd had gathered for the live concert event. Anticipating the large turnout, the police deployed additional security measures.

Despite these precautions, the four suspects managed to steal mobile phones from the audience during the concert. When complaints of stolen phones began to surface, the police promptly initiated an investigation. The suspects were detained based on suspicion, and after interrogation, the police recovered 14 stolen mobile phones from their possession.

Chandannagar Police Station’s Senior Inspector Sanjay Chavan stated that the search is ongoing for two to three accomplices who were involved in the theft but managed to evade arrest.
