Pune : Thieves Damage Fuel Pipeline of Hindustan Petroleum, Arrested

Pune 2nd August 2023 : In yet another incident of fuel theft reported in Pune, the thieves have targetted the pipeline of petrol and diesel supply of Hindusthan Petroleum on Pune-Solapur Highway. The accused allegedly tried to damage the pipeline that supplies fuel to various depots. The incident took place on July 25 near Mhatobachi Alandi on the highway.

Gaurav Kemchand Gupta (aged 32), manager working with Hindustan Petroleum Company, had filed a complaint with the Lonikalbhor Police Station regarding this incident. Police have arrested three accused identified as Praveen Madikhambe (51), Vishal Dhanaji Dhaigude (31), and Balu Arun Chaure (30) in the case. The accused have been sent to police custody for five days.

It may be noted that multiple incidents of fuel theft have been reported at Loni Kalbhor in the last few months. The police had also found involvement of some employees working at the fuel company. The Petrol Dealer Association of Pune has demanded a strict action against the arrested accused Pravin Madikhambe as he was also found involved in a fuel theft case registered in past.
